Malin Klingenberg’s Senior Squad series is travelling to Denmark, where it will be published by Bogoo, marking the third foreign deal for this series.
The Senior Squad series by Malin Klingenberg, a true reader’s favourite in Finland, is continuing its journey out into the world: Bogoo has acquired the Danish rights in a two-book deal.
In The Senior Squad series we follow Patrik, a shy schoolboy who one day sets off on an unexpected adventure: he ends up on a bus full of pensioners, and finds out they are part of a crime-fighting squad. It appears that one of the senior citizens has been kidnapped and a group of villains are very interested in taking the other pensioners out of the game as well, and with that all sorts of hilarious adventures, twists and turns are in the cards.
The Senior Squad series, consisting of six books, has been a wonderful success in Finland, where its Swedish-language edition was a children’s bestseller. In Finland, the series is published by Schildts & Söderströms.
Malin Klingenberg is one of Finland’s most prominent Swedish-speaking authors. Her extensive production, ranging from picture books all the way to YA, has been loved, read, and translated into many languages all over the world. She has recently been awarded the Vanessa Prize for her impressingly polyhedric authorship.
Bogoo is a newly founded Danish publishing house with a focus on practical non-fiction and children’s and YA books. They are the Danish home of The Smuggler’s Treasure, among others.
Congratulations to the author and the publishers!
