Julia Vuori (b. 1968) is an illustrator who has published comics and picture books for children and adults. Her best-known character is Sika, who, in addition to her books, has adventures in the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper. Vuori was awarded the State Prize for Children’s Culture in 2013. The Fivefold Luck of Algot the Alligator starts a new picture book series.
Together with poet Kristiina Lähde, they have created two children’s books about Archie the canary: Archie Goes South (2016) and Archie in the Spring (2019).
