The Hues are able to control the colours of their own possessions, and they can handle them and move them about by willpower. Ruby’s colour is red and her big sister’s Skye is blue, while their little brother Forrest is still looking for his colour and practising hard. The series follows their adventures as they find themselves and grow into their ability.
The sixth and final volume of the series sees Lyra, an ordinary girl without special powers, as the protagonist. Lyra is Ruby Hue’s best friend, and has lived alongside the Hues for many years. The action leaps forward a couple of years; in that time the whole world has changed: the Hues no longer hide their powers, but celebrate them.
The city is excited for the arrival of a famous Colour Gardener, who fails to show up to the celebrations planned for him. Could more trouble be afoot? And can Lyra save the day, even without superpowers?
