It’s summer vacation, and ten-year-old Eevert has three items in his to-do list:
1. Learn to fly.
2. Save the city.
3. Find the head that’s a perfect fit for the pilot’s cap.
You see, Eevert has discovered he has a father – and not just any father, but a superhero! His father simply came and went so fast the only memento he left behind was a pilot’s cap. Now Eevert has to find the head that fits the cap.
The city, on the other hand, needs to be saved from the dazzling, movie-star like Buber family, who have thrown everything into chaos by wrapping the city’s residents in their stardust, making everyone forget what’s important.
Eevert’s superhero mission leads him into dangers he never could have imagined. Luckily he has the help of his friend Tilda and the lady with the low voice who lives upstairs, Mrs. Malmsten. And when the Bubers’ daughter Ponilja learns how things truly stand, the children manage to stir up the Storm to End All Storms.
“Then Eevert and Ponilja saw something that made time slow around them: Olga and Kunilja flew past, with Kunilja in front, her sumptuous dress billowing in the wind, and Olga behind, hanging from Kunilja’s ankles.
For a split second, they looked each other in the eye: Eevert and Olga, and Ponilja and Kunilja. The looks stretched between them like taut rubber-bands until they drifted too far apart. The flying cereal bowl continued south toward the sea, and Kunilja sped north with Olga at her ankles.”
