Karin Erlandson (b. 1978) is a journalist and author who lives in Åland.
Erlandsson has published a four-part series of children’s novels called Song of the Eye Gemstone. The first novel of four, Pearl Fisher (2017), was the winner of the publisher’s children’s novel competition and received the Runeberg Junior Prize. It was also nominated for the The Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize, similarly to the fourth novel Victor (2019).
Erlandsson’s latest children’s novel is a Christmas-time adventure in 24 chapters called Night Express (2020), illustrated by Peter Bergting. It has been a critical and commercial success, and it was awarded with Runeberg Junior Prize in 2021.
Erlandsson has also published three other novels, the first of which, Mink Farm (2014) received a nomination for The Nordic Council Literature Prize. She has also authored nonfiction.
