Hannamari Ruohonen (b. 1979) has illustrated numerous children’s books. My Lost Mother (2017) is her first work as illustrator and author. Kaisa and Oskar’s Book of Favourites (2018), about a pair of siblings’ best-loved things, received a sequel in 2019, Kaisa’s and Oskar’s Book of Outings. Ruohonen’s rich and expressive work has been praised by critics and the general public alike.
