Carlos da Cruz (b. 1972) is a French-born illustrator and graphic artist who lives in Finland. He has loved comics and drawing since he was a little boy. Later he studied graphic design, among other things, in Paris. Since moving to Finland he has worked on teaching materials and non-fiction books for children. In 2011 da Cruz was awarded the Cockerel Prize for his work as an illustrator. Animal Scalebook is his first picture book for children.
