Just as Detective Inspector Kari Sorjonen is starting to get used to his life in the bordertown to Russia, his 18-yearold daughter Janina wakes up on a sailing boat – covered with blood. A body of a middle-aged man is found abroad and all the evidence seems to point at the girl.

As other suspicious deaths start taking place, Sorjonen – not allowed to take part in the official investigation and troubled by his personal worries as well – sees it fit to start an investigation of his own to find out what has really happened…

The first book of the Bordertown  series, Doll’s House, was published in 2016. The books are written by two Finnish professional authors under the pseudonym J. M. Ilves.
